McDonogh

Result: Previous: 1. McDonogh did it. The Eagles completed another undefeated season, their eighth in a row, and in doing so captured their eighth straight IAAM A Conference title. The most recent win came in the form of a 12-9 victory over a strong Notre Dame Prep (Md.) team, No. 3 again this week. McDonogh pushed its win streak to an unimaginable 177 consecutive games, with their last loss taking place in March of 2009. The Eagles will claim the top Super 25 spot for the third consecutive season.

Glenelg

Glenelg, MD 18 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 2. The Gladiators had an impressive week, kicking off the MPSSAA 3A/2A playoffs with a 16-4 win over Centennial (Md.). That was followed up with a hard-fought 8-6 win over Marriotts Ridge (Md.) in the second round and then a 14-2 win over Chesapeake (Md.) to claim their second straight regional title. Alayna Pagnotta (Jacksonville) scored five times in the victory. It sets Glenelg up to play Oakdale (Md.) in the 3A/2A semifinals of the state tournament this coming weekend.

Notre Dame Prep

Towson, MD 19 - 3 - 0

Result: Previous: 3. The Blazers lost 12-9 in the IAAM A Conference finale to the undefeated McDonogh Eagles, a highly respectable and noble loss in falling by just three goals to perhaps the most winning dynasty in all of sports. The young Notre Dame Prep teams, with only three losses and two of those to McDonogh, has one of the top resumes in the nation.

St Stephen's-St Agnes

Alexandria, VA 26 - 1 - 0

Result: Previous: 4. The Saints rallied from three goals down at the half to take down Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) on May 15 in the Independent School League championship. Draw specialist Annie Dyson (Virginia) was a force in the win. With a 16-1 domination of St. Anne’s Belfield (Va.), St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes advances to the semifinals of the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association tournament to face Episcopal (Va.).

Ridgewood

Ridgewood, NJ 18 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 5. Ridgewood was dominant in two wins in the previous week, including a 22-8 win over Glen Ridge (N.J.) and a 21-1 win over Mahwah (N.J.). The Maroons face Livingston (N.J.) in the postseason tournament.

Melville

East Setauket, NY 16 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 6. The Patriots finished the regular season without a loss, downing Smithtown West (N.Y.) 17-4 and outlasting Huntington (N.Y.) 13-10. The Patriots have benefitted this season from a balanced offense with scoring spread among players. They are the top-seeded team in the Suffolk County Class A playoffs and will face West Islip (N.Y.) in the county quarterfinals on May 22.

Marriotts Ridge

Marriottsville, MD 12 - 4 - 0

Result: Previous: 7. The Mustangs rolled past Manchester Valley (Md.) 15-8 in the MPSSAA 3A/2A playoffs, but then were edged 8-6 by No. 2 Glenelg (Md.) in a battle of two of the state’s top programs. Marriotts Ridge’s losses this year came only to No. 1 McDonogh (Md.), No. 2 Glenelg (Md.) and No. 3 Notre Dame Prep (Md.).

Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai, NY 13 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 8. The Mustangs outscored their previous three opponents by a combined 45-8. They face Central New York powerhouse Skaneateles on May 13. Meaghan Tyrell (Syracuse) has 76 points so far for Mount Sinai.

Oak Knoll

Result: Previous: 9. The Royals have gained momentum since their loss to Ridgewood on May 11. In the past week, they downed Westfield (N.J.) 16-3, then edged Lawrenceville (N.J.) 15-14 in a slugfest and then rolled to a 15-1 win over Kent Place (N.J.) in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 tournament quarterfinals. They advance to the semis and will face New Providence (N.J.) on May 22.

Result: Previous: 10. The Hilltoppers have won in convincing fashion since falling in overtime to No. 9 Oak Knoll (N.J.) back on May 6. Summit has downed Kent Place (N.J.) 15-7 and Morristown (N.J.) 14-4 and shut out Cranford (N.J.) 15-0. The postseason continues for Summit when they host Roxbury (N.J.) on May 22.

Bridgewater-Raritan

Result: Previous: 11. The Panthers downed Bernards (N.J.) 10-5 on May 13 and then rolled to an 18-3 victory over Watchung Hills (N.J.) on May 18 in the quarterfinals of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 playoffs. They face North Hunterdon on May 20 in the semifinals.

Moorestown

Result: Previous: 12. The Quakers downed a tough Lawrenceville (N.J.) team 9-7 on May 12 and then routed Lenape (N.J.) 16-2 on May 16. Moorestown then shut out Lacey (N.J.) 19-0 in the quarterfinals of the South Jersey, Group 3 tournament. The Quakers will face Mainland (N.J.) on May 22.

Result: Previous: 13. After awaiting the sectional playoffs, the Trojans got back into action with a 17-1 runaway win over New Hyde Park (N.Y.) in the Nassau County Class B first round. Garden City will face Calhoun (N.Y.) on May 22.

Episcopal Academy

Merion Station, PA 18 - 4 - 0

Result: Previous: 14. The Churchmen made it 17 straight with wins in the past week over the likes of Germantown Academy (Pa.) and Penn Charter (Pa.). Episcopal Academy next faces the Baldwin School (Pa.) on the road May 18. The Churchmen shut the Bears out 17-0 earlier in the year.

Result: Previous: 16. The Cardinals rolled to a convincing 17-3 win over St. Catherine’s (Va.) in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association quarterfinals. It sends Bishop Ireton back to the VISAA final four, where the Cardinals will face the Collegiate School (Va.) on May 20.

Result: Previous: 22. Middle Country pulled ahead for a 16-9 victory over Shoreham-Wading River in a cross-class non-league showdown in Suffolk County on May 16. Jamie Ortega (North Carolina) continues to lead all of Suffolk County with 110 points so far this season.

Result: Previous: 17. The Sharks were dominant in a 20-1 win over Center Moriches (N.Y.) on May 9 to end the regular season. Kaitlyn Dowsett (Siena) is currently leading Eastport on offense with 31 goals and 36 assists so far. The Sharks will be the top Class B seed in the Suffolk County playoffs.

Result: Previous: 19. Bayport Blue Point downed Westhampton Beach (N.Y.) 7-3 on May 5. The Phantoms rolled to easy wins in their next two games, taking victories over Port Jefferson (N.Y.) and Sayville (N.Y.). Bayport Blue Point is tied with Shoreham-Wading River, Super 25 No. 22 in the current conference standings.

Glenelg Country

Result: Previous: 21. It was an impressive run to end the season for the young Dragons, who reached the IAAM A Conference semifinals. There, they put up a good fight against the top-ranked McDonogh Eagles, falling 12-7. To get there, they had to upend an Archbishop Spalding (Md.) team that had downed Glenelg Country earlier in the year.

Result: Previous: 20. Shoreham fell 16-9 to Class A opponent and Super 25 regular Middle Country on May 16. The Wildcats are currently tied with No. 19 Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) for second place in the conference standings.

Result: Previous: 25. The Wildcats took down Liverpool (N.Y.) 19-6 on May 16 and then edged Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.) 11-9 on the road just a day later. Mackenzie Baker put up four goals and four assists in the win over the Rams. West Genesee sits atop its conference standings heading into the postseason.
