2012 Gridiron Preview: Lake Catholic

The Lake Catholic High School football team has adopted “Find A Way” as its motto for the 2012 season.

“No matter the situation, we must ‘Find A Way’ to reach our personal and team goals,” 11th-year Lake Catholic head coach Mike Bell said in reference to the squad’s mantra.

Returning 17 lettermen from the 2011 squad that posted a 10-2 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the North Coast League, the Cougars’ aspirations for this fall are as high as they’ve ever been.

“Win the NCL, go undefeated, make the playoffs [and] win the Division III state title,” Bell said, rattling off the team’s lofty goals.

Lake Catholic employs a pro-style offense and utilizes a multiple defensive scheme. The Cougars open the regular season against Strongsville on Aug. 23.

Bell recently answered questions about this year’s squad and its upcoming season for WKYC’s usatodayhss.com Web site.
