Take charge on the court and look sharp while you're at it. We're spotlighting five top basketball shoes that combine high-performance features with style.

Adidas Rose 3.0, $160
Derrick Rose’s third signature basketball shoe, the D Rose 3, is more stylish and performance-driven than ever. A new logo on the shoe’s oversized tongue features a letter “D” and three petals, each of which represents Rose’s family, basketball and the city of Chicago. Built for fast and agile players, the shoe’s fit is designed so the foot moves minimally to support quick changes of direction and explosive acceleration.

Nike Kobe 8 System, $140
Kobe Bryant’s newest signature shoe was designed to mimic his playing style — speedy and low to the ground. The construction shaves off a little height and weight, keeping the shoe super light (men’s size 9 drops at 9.6 ounces). The mesh also takes on a scale-like design that represents Bryant’s signature mamba pattern. Another style element is called out on the shoe tongue, which features a snake graphic.

Jordan CP3.IV, $125
Los Angeles’ culture of cars and street-racing partly inspire this shoe’s vibrant atomic green and university blue colors. Also notable, the triangle pattern on the outsole pays homage to Paul’s grandfather. Dots on left heel represent Paul’s wedding day, while the dots on the right symbolize his son’s birthday.

Under Armour Micro G Charge, $130
Under Armour’s newest basketball kick combines elements of stability and flexibility. The high-top structure ensures the ankle stays supported, and the shoe’s features offer the comfort of a low-top kick.

Nike Hyperdunk, $140
The fifth Hyperdunk iteration includes Nike Flywire, strong and lightweight nylon cables that wrap the foot and support it during quick cuts and explosive bursts. To allow some flexibility around the ankle, the collar is lower in the back and higher in the front.
