APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – Maybe one of the greatest high school wrestling coaches in Minnesota history has announced his retirement.
Jim Jackson of Apple Valley High School says he wants to devote more time to his family. He has a 12 year-old-daughter.
The 55-year-old Jackson coached Apple Valley wrestling well over 30 years. He became the head coach in 1995 and won 14 state titles including 12 in the last 13 years. He retires with an overall record of 169-26-3.
The Eagles were also back-to-back national champions in 2010 and 2011.
No successor has been named.
