Boys tennis: Golden Eagles win

Monday’s No. 3 singles contest was halted by rain, but Lincoln still earned a TEC victory over Winchester.

Kyle Richardson and Tyler Klein won at singles, and Brady Kissick and Evan Underwood at No. 1 doubles to guarantee the victory for the Golden Eagles (9-4, 4-2).

Winchester’s Isaiah Davis and Marcus Melton won at No. 2 doubles.


SINGLES-No. 1: Richardson (LIN) def. Detro 6-3, 6-4; No. 2: Klein (LIN) def. J.Cox 6-2, 6-4.

DOUBLES-No. 1: Kissick and Underwood (LIN) def. Roberts and G.Cox 2-6, 7-5, 6-1; No. 2: Davis and Melton (WIN) def. Merida and Maley 6-2, 6-0.

Boys tennis: Patriots top Union City

Union County defeated Union City 5-0 on Monday.
Hunter Hartman, Trey Hannebaum and Brandon Scott all won singles matches for the Patriots.
Austin Fuller and Adam Ripberger won at No. 1 doubles, while Devin Pinney and Dillon Miller did the same at No. 2.

Boys soccer: Patriots defeat Arrows

Union County defeated Preble Shawnee 9-1 on Monday.

Ryan Abbott, Cody Volz, Matt Carman and Levi Oswald all scored twice for the Patriots, while Jacob Nixon added a goal. Abbott and Gerritt Persinger had assists.

Girls soccer: Patriots win big

Eight Patriots scored on Monday as Union County halted Wapahani 11-1.

Emily Bantz, Megan Ellinger, Aryanna Cotton, Hannah Swafford, Maderia Ferrario, Alisha Burkhead, Megan Abbott and Cierra Gronning all scored, with Bantz, Ellinger and Abbott having multiple goals. Kassy Smith had two assists.

Volleyball: Cardinals fall

Oldenburg Academy defeated Seton Catholic 25-16, 25-23, 5-25, 25-11 on Monday.

Maleiah Thompson had 10 kills and 16 digs for Seton, while Emily Linginfelter added seven kills.

Volleyball: Patriots sweep

Union County swept Franklin County 3-0 on Monday.
Game scores were 25-22, 25-11, 25-21.
Isabella Pavey had 32 assists and Carlea Handley had 17 kills for the Patriots. Allison Kassens added 12 digs.

Cross country: Bulldogs post PR’s

Centerville’s runners all recorded personal records as the Bulldogs competed at South Dearborn.

Emily Vance led Centerville’s girls team with a sixth-place finish, while Shelby Short was 12th. Madilyn Coomes, Brittany Cohee, Jessi Ausmus and Taylor Smith also competed for the Bulldogs.

Brandon Dillman led the Bulldog boys, while Anthony Reisert, Josh Alvey, Nic Turner and Austin Cole also competed.

Junior high sports: Dennis sweeps

Dennis swept Lincoln on Monday in volleyball.

The seventh grade won 18-25, 25-22, 15-14 with Alexus Wright providing 10 aces and Aubrey Moore adding five.

Dennis’ eighth grade won 25-19, 25-11. Brooke Vickers and Ryanne Spicer each had eight aces and two kills for Dennis.

Junior high sports: Seton wins

Seton Catholic’s seventh grade volleyball team improved to 7-0 with Monday’s 25-9, 25-24 win over Community Christian Connersville.

Rebekah Johnston had 12 aces, while Sarah Dickman and Brooke Gray had seven each.

Seton’s eighth grade also won, downing Community Christian 24-25, 25-19, 15-4. Marie Lindahl had five digs, Erin Barrett four kills and Kelsey Martin six aces for Seton.

Junior high sports: Knights split

Northeastern split with Union County on Monday in volleyball. The Knights won the seventh grade match 25-21, 25-13. Union County won the eighth grade match 25-22, 25-23.
