Bulldogs win opener

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Centerville opened it’s season with a 5-0 victory over Randolph Southern on Thursday.

Eric Josephson, Jacob Thompson and Adam Spencer earned singles victories over the Rebels, while Chandler Howell and Brady Wagenknecht won at No. 1 doubles and the team of Mickey Barnes and Alex Hill won at No. 2.

The Bulldogs (1-0) travel to Jeffersonville today for a tournament, while the Rebels (0-1) travel to Lincoln on Tuesday.

SINGLES — No. 1 – Eric Josephson (CEN) def. Dylan Honeycutt 6-1, 6-0; No. 2 – Jacob Thompson (CEN) def. Daxton Naylor 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 – Adam Spencer (CEN) def. Cole Dingess 6-0, 6-0.

DOUBLES — No. 1 – Chandler Howell and Brady Wagenknecht (CEN) def. Alex Welch and Jacob Wolfal 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 – Mickey Barnes and Alex Hill (CEN) def. Nate McKinney and Dalton Spencer 6-0, 6-0.

Tigers down ‘Dogs

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Hagerstown remained undefeated on the season with a 188-210 victory over Tri-Eastern Conference foe Centerville at Hartley Hills Thursday.

The Tigers (4-0, 2-0) were led by Shelly Shafer’s 45, while Jess Denhart added 46 and Amanda Thackrey 47. Kristen Kenworthy and Olivia Houck both shot 50s.

Bulldog Sierra Lesh earned medalist honors with a 38.

The Bulldogs travel to Lincoln on Monday while the Tigers travel to Winchester on Tuesday.

Knights beat Indians

UNION CITY, Ind. – Northeastern defeated Union City 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 at Union City on Thursday.

Kerri Kircher led the Knights (1-0, 1-0) with 13 kills, while Cierra Guenther added 12. Sarah Scotten had six aces and 27 assists, while Michaela Barker led with 12 digs.

The Knights travel to Jay County Saturday while Union City hosts Delta on Wednesday.

JV: Northeastern won 18-25, 25-24, 15-13

Golden Eagles win

Haley Hall had 21 digs and Jordan Bryant finished with 13 kills Thursday as Lincoln defeated Eastern Hancock 25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 18-25, 19-17.

JV: Eastern Hancock won 24-25, 25-16, 15-7
