Cienna Washington had 15 kills, but St. Cloud Tech fell 3-1 to Rocori in Central Lakes Conference prep volleyball action Thursday night at Tech High School.

Game scores were 14-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22. The Tigers fell to 1-1 in conference play and 1-2 overall.

Morgan Koshiol and Abby Templin had seven kills apiece for the Spartans (1-1, 3-5).


SAUK RAPIDS – Sauk Rapids senior outside hitter Sierra Karls tallied 12 kills and 10 digs and the Storm rallied for an eight-point run in the last set, but it wasn’t enough as Sauk Rapids fell to Fergus Falls.

The Otters won 25-11, 25-27, 25-17, 25-22. Seniors Kari Hiscock and Nicole Stedgje aided the Storm effort by adding 10 digs and 25 set assists respectively.

Alexandria 3, Sartell 1

ALEXANDRIA – Senior Cassie Ross had nine kills and 10 digs and senior Ashton Haider added seven kills, 14 digs and three ace serves for Sartell in the conference loss.

Alexandria won 25-19, 12-25, 25-16, 25-11 over Sartell (1-2 CLC, 1-3 overall).

Sartell plays Dassel-Cokato at 9 a.m. Saturday in pool play at the Litchfield Invitational. The Sabres are in a pool that also includes Annandale and Cambridge.


The Warriors handed Apollo their third straight loss of the season (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) at Apollo High School.

Caitlyn Petserson had five digs and 12 set assists to lead the Eagles (0-3), teammate Katrina Johnson added seven digs and two ace serves.

St. Cloud Cathedral 3, Foley 0

FOLEY – Rylee Medelberg finished with six kills, five solo blocks and five ace serves as St. Cloud Cathedral swept Foley.

Game scores were 25-12, 25-5, 25-15. Sophie Harris had 15 set assists and 10 digs and Jenna Januschka had seven kills and three ace serves for the Crusaders.

Albany 3, Little Falls 0

ALBANY – Sam Schlangen finished with 27 set assists, 11 digs and eight ace serves in Albany’s win against Little Falls.

Game scores were 25-15, 25-12, 25-20. Noelle Kurowski had seven kills for Little Falls.

Amaziah Eickhoff had eight kills and seven digs for the Huskies (3-0 GRC, 6-1 overall), Kristin Buttweiler led the offense with nine kills and Cassie Shaver added 16 digs.

Sauk Centre 3,
Paynesville 0

PAYNESVILLE – Macy Weller had 13 kills, Jena Klaphake had 17 set assists and seven digs and Sauk Centre missed two serves all night for the West Central Conference win.

The Mainstreeters (3-0, 7-0) also got six digs from Kendra Zenzen and two ace serves from Weller.

For Paynesville (0-3), Merisa Whitcomb was 62 of 66 serving and Megan Schaefer had four solo blocks.


HOLDINGFORD – Bridget Bednar had 13 kills and 15 digs as Pierz beat Holdingford 18-25, 25-9, 16-25, 25-20, 15-8 in Central Minnesota Conference play. She added seven ace serves.

Tiara Hopkins had 18 digs and six kills. Michaela Rocheleau had seven kills. Amanda Young led Holdingford going 14-for-15 serving with four kills, one block, 29 assists and 12 digs. Samantha Maciez had 10 digs and seven kills and Haley Huls added 18 digs.


KIMBALL – The Cubs dropped their Central Minnesota Conference opener 12-25 15-25 18-25 to the Jaguars and fell to 0-1 in the Central Minnesota Conference and 2-2 overall.

Maple Lake 3, HLWW 0

MAPLE LAKE – Shelby Rachel had eight kills as Maple Lake took down Howard Lake-Waverly/Winsted 25-7, 25-19, 25-16.

Mackenzie Uter had six kills for the Lakers.

Eden Valley-Watkins 3, Rockford 0

EDEN VALLEY – Kaylee Forcier had 12 kills and 10 digs as Eden Valley-Watkins topped Rockford.

Game scores were 25-17, 25-16, 25-23. Bailey Lahr had 12 digs and Holly Schumacher added 22 set assists for the the Eagles (1-0 CMC, 2-1 overall).


LONG PRAIRIE – Osakis defeated Long Pairie-Grey Eagle 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 on the road.

Browerville 0

BROWERVILLE – Sadie Welinski had four kills, 12 digs and two ace serves as Upsala defeated Browerville.

Game scores were 25-16, 25-12, 25-22. Danica Cheney had five kills, eight digs and 18 set assists.


BENSON – Brenna Pierskalla and Emily Goerdt combined for 14 kills as Melrose dropped Benson 25-23, 25-21, 25-21.

The duo each batted seven kills and Tayler Reller added 10 assists for the Dutchmen.

KEARNEY, Neb. – Freshman Rachel Burke had seven kills and 12 digs, but St. Cloud State was brushed aside 3-0 against Nebraska-Kearney in a non-conference game.

Game scores were 25-6, 25-17, 25-9. The Huskies fell to 3-2 overall.
