Rachel Barnay snapped a scoreless tie 5:12 into overtime to lift the Piscataway High School field hockey team to a 1-0 victory on Monday against Franklin in a nonconference matchup.

Hannah Issacs made 18 saves for the Chiefs (3-13) while Janelle Melecio stopped three shots for Franklin (6-11).

Boys Soccer

Bound Brook 2, Highland Park 0: Hever Pepe Lopez and Ivan Plascencia scored goals to power Bound Brook (5-8-2). Highland Park fell to 9-9.

Metuchen 4, Bishop Ahr 0: Kyle Salmon scored two goals and Ryan O’Neill provided two assists, leading Metuchen (11-7) past Bishop Ahr (3-11-3). Brandon Kessler and Matt Nicholas scored the other Bulldog goals. Scott Liscari made five saves for the Trojans.

Woodbridge
Academy 6, St. Mary’s (Elizabeth) 0: Varun Uchil and Ali Ben-Saad each scored two goals while Marcin Ciesla and Brian Smighelschi added one goal each to lead Woodbridge Academy (6-9-1). Grace Brennan and Kyle Kopcho combined in goal to post the shutout.

Middlesex Academy 4, Henry Hudson 3: Matt Persing, Ruky Rupasinghe, Shrey Mediratta and Dan Delmonaco all contributed goals for Middlesex Academy (8-7-2), which held a 3-2 lead at halftime.

Girls Soccer

Rutgers
Prep 1, Immaculata 1: Krysta Jurkovic struck for a second-half goal as Rutgers Prep (2-8-1) earned a draw. Immaculata’s record moves to 3-8-4.

Spotswood 2, New Brunswick 0: After a scoreless first half, Jessica Meagher and Ashley Pina broke the ice for Spotswood (10-8), scoring one goal each in the second half. Erika Diaz made 15 saves for New Brunswick (2-15).

South Plainfield 6, South Amboy 0: Emily Skula tallied a hat trick while teammate Carlee Gonzalez added a pair of goals for South Plainfield (9-8-2). Taylor Henry added one goal and one assist for the Tigers. South Amboy drops to 5-11.
