Elkhart Lake 7, Campbellsport 4
The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah baseball team finished with one less hit and one more error than host Campbellsport on Tuesday, but the Cougars stranded 10 runners in its season ending loss.
The Resorters finished ahead in the stat that counts most, the score, with a 7-4 victory in a WIAA Summer baseball regional.
Nate Stahl had an RBI double in the Campbellsport sixth inning, but a pair of runs is all the Cougars pushed across when they left two runners aboard. They also left runners on second and third in the third and the bases loaded in both the fifth and seventh innings.
Dustin Salter also doubled for Campbellsport, which collected eight hits.
“We didn’t get the timely hit,” said Campbellsport coach Jerry Raether. “We got the hit up to that point, and got a couple runs in, but couldn’t get the real big inning going for us.”
