Oshkosh North managed only 27 points in a loss to Appleton East last Friday.

The Spartans topped that mark in their return to the court on Tuesday — in two different quarters.

North erupted for a pair of 28-point quarters in the first half and rolled past Menasha, 82-36, in a Fox valley Association boys basketball game.

“It felt a little better,” Oshkosh North coach Frank Schade said. “We came out shooting pretty good and then I think our defense really became our offense.”

Blake Marquardt and Cooper Radtke took turns leading the Spartans’ onslaught.

Marquardt scored all 14 of his points in the first quarter leading North to a 28-6 lead over the Bluejays.

Then, the Spartans turned to Radtke in the post and the junior delivered 16 of his game-high 23 points as North extended its lead to 56-14 at the half.

“We hit five 3s in the first quarter, so we came out shooting pretty good,” Schade said. “Then we went inside in the second quarter.”

Seth Taylor added 12 points for the Spartans (4-1, 2-1).

Austin Grade scored seven points to lead Menasha (0-4, 0-3).
