LOCKPORT, N.Y.- Following a 9-1-0 season in 2011, the Williamsville South Billies are off to a pretty solid start.

Saturday’s scrimmage at the Emmet Belknap Intermediate School showed the boys what they need to work on as a team.

“We need everybody to step up, not just the captains. We need the next guy to make a play, the next guy to take over if things are going bad,” said left guard and defensive tackle Greg Crane.

Quarterback Trent Ferguson thought the team played okay. “Our offense was good, like coach said, we were basic. We didn’t want to give anything away because it was our first time playing Timon so we didn’t want to give them everything we have.”

Coach Kraig Kurzanski said, “I just thought we competed. We need to get better, we need to get more physical. But I thought overall our kids played really hard.”

Coach Kurzanski says the team is ready for their game on Friday.
