CAMBRIDGE — Two runners in the top five and three in the top 10 led River View to a first-place finish Saturday in the Cambridge Invitational at Cambridge High School.
Corey Miller took second overall in 17:02, and teammate Steven Scheetz was right behind in third in 17:09. Tyler Gunn rounded out River View’s top-10 trio, finishing 10th in 17:58.
The Black Bears’ 56 points put them at first overall in the big school race. Carrollton was a close second at 59, while Canal Winchester (70), Dover (104) and Licking Valley (169) rounded out the top five.
Andy Parsons (22nd, 18:41) and Jakob Eick (24th, 18:48) also scored for the Black Bears.
The River View girls were sixth in the large school race with 141. Canal Winchester was first at 47.
Francie Neal paced the Lady Bears, taking 14th in 21:35. Also for River View, Ali Dawson was 26th (22:23), Julia Royer 39th (23:21), Kristen Douglass 42nd (23:48) and CeCe Brown 43rd (23:48).
Ridgewood’s boys were eighth in the small school at 185 behind Zak Keesee’s 15th-place run in 18:40. Phillip Shannon was 31st in 19:40, Travis Vickers 36th in 19:59, A.J. Allman 66th in 22:31 and Darren Dreher 73rd in 23:45.
Meadowbrook won the small school race with 76 points.
Jessica McCoun was the only Ridgewood girl to compete. She took 17th in the small school race in 23:08.
