Blackman football coach Philip Shadowens said Wednesday afternoon that his team’s District 7-AAA opener with fifth-ranked Siegel will be played on Friday as originally scheduled
Shadowens said Tuesday that the school was weighing the option of moving the game up to Thursday because of potential inclement weather from Hurricane Isaac.
Blackman and Siegel are both 2-0 to open the season. Blackman has been led by its physical defense, which is giving up 10.5 points a game. Opponents are averaging 62 yards a game on the ground and 66 in the air. But that will be tested against the Stars’ high-potent offense.
Siegel is averaging 51 points a game and 465 total yards (268.5 rush, 196.5 pass).
