Body of missing Coppell football player found in lake

COPPELL, Texas – The body of a missing Dallas-area high school football star has been recovered from the waters of a North Texas lake where he disappeared four days before.

The body of 17-year-old Jacob Logan was found about 9:21 p.m. Thursday near the base of the cliff from which he jumped into Possum Kingdom Lake, about 80 miles west of Fort Worth.

Brazos River Authority spokeswoman Judi Pierce says she had few details of the recovery. However, she said the waters in that area vary from 25 to 80 feet in depth.

The senior wide receiver for Coppell (kuh-PEHL') High School, one of the state's top-ranked teams, disappeared Sunday while swimming with friends.

Coppell is ranked No. 17 in the latest Super 25 Rankings. The Cowboys play at Flower Mound (Texas) tonight.
