Boeder's 23 helps Oshkosh West hold off Patriots

Oshkosh West came up with a defensive stop in the final seconds to hold for a 46-45 win over Appleton East in a Fox Valley Association boys basketball game on Friday night.

The Wildcats (4-4, 2-4) trailed 36-35 going into the fourth quarter and saw the Patriots stretch the lead early in the period, but overtook East midway through the period and held on at the end.

Andrew Boeder scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half as West built a 25-24 lead at intermission.

Nathan Smith scored 13 points to lead the Patriots (5-3, 3-3).
