The St. Mary’s Springs girls cross country team won a meet in Lomira on Thursday.

The Ledgers scored 78 points to beat Random Lake (88).

Liz Bohn won the race at 14 minutes, 59 seconds, her first time breaking the 15-minute mark. Abby Busse was fourth (15:33), and Baily Hoch finished 23rd in another personal-best time.

“The girls came out on a mission and they really proved themselves as a good team,” said Springs coach Shane Smith.

Lomira took sixth as a atem and Laconia was eighth.

Hailey Isaac paced the Spartans in third place with a time of 15:23, just 24 seconds off of Bohn’s pace.

For Lomira, Savannah Borges placed 19th in 17:11, Ellyn Halley was 25th in 17:29 and Brianna Falk took 28th in 17:34.

The Springs boys placed eighth with 188 points. Kettle Moraine Lutheran won, and Laconia had the best area finish in fourth. Lomira took seventh.

Zach Zimmerman took fourth for the Spartans in 17:35, and Mitchell Freiberg was just two places and five seconds back.

Alan Burkart was 16th (18:07) as the top Ledger. Andrew Skiff placed 20th (18:13), and Todd Petrie finished 36th (19:00).

Lomira’s top runners were Dylan Schmidt in 18:29 and Austin Holman in 18:32. They took 25th and 26th respectively.

Port Washington Invite

The Fondy boys took 10th place and the girls took 11th.

Chris Leisses was the fastest Fondy boy, taking sixth place in 16:56, and the Cardinals amassed 248 points.

Nolan Cunningham was the next best Cardinal, placing 31st (17:47), and Eric Schoenbach was 55th (18:35).

Port Washington won the boys team title with 40 point.

Fond du Lac’s girls scored 256 for 11th place. Megan Buechel took 12th (16:04). Annie Moore was 18th (16:09), and Erica Daniels (17:07).

West Ben West won the girls’ competition with 78 points.

C’sport Invite

Mayville’s boys led area teams by taking fourth at the 42nd annual Cougar Invitational on Thursday at Columbus Parc.

The host Cougars were sixth and New Holstein was ninth. Each area team had a top-10 runner.

Mayville’s Chance Feller ran the 5,000 meters at Columbus Park in 18 minutes to take third. The Cardinals then had three runners finishing within four seconds of each other in 19th, 20th and 21st.

Tyler Beres led Campbellsport with his ninth-place time of 18:45, and Kristopher Lefeber paced the Huskies in 10th in 18:46. Chase Lindgren ran 19:21 for 25th for Campbellsport.

In the girls race, Mayville took sixth, Campbellsport was eighth and New Holstein took ninth, with no local runner finishing in the top-10. The top local runner was Mayville’s Brittany Danner, who ran in 17:13. Chantel Danner was second for the Cardinals with a time of 17:40 for 21st place.

Campbellsport’s top runner was Lizzy Fellion, who took 26th in 17:59, followed by Courtney McCourt in 35th with a time of 18:16. Montana Braun led New Holstein in 29th place at 18:02.

Manitowoc Lutheran won the boys race and Living Word Lutheran won the girls’ meet.
