Boys golf: Coshocton, River View compete at ECOL tournament

ZANESVILLE — Greg Bosson shot 86 to lead Coshocton to a seventh-place finish at the Preseason East Central Ohio League Tournament Monday at par-72 Cambridge Country Club.

The Redskins finished in a tie with Claymont at 360 but won on a scorecard playoff. They finished one shot ahead of Rosecrans (359) and fifth-place Zanesville (355).
Marietta won the event with 321, followed by Meadowbrook (343), Dover (350) and Cambridge (354). New Philadelphia was ninth (361) and River View 10th (405).
The event accounts for half of the league standings, with the postseason tournament scheduled for Sept. 19 at River Greens.
Patrick Brouse added 89 and Jake Glasure 92 for Coshocton, and Luke Sutton shot 93.
Ross Anglin’s 93 led River View; Kyle Daugherty had 96, Jonathan Dart 106 and Matthew Brillhart 110.
Jared Hammons was overall medalist with 72 for Marietta, which also saw Joe Broughton shoot 80, Nathan Matheney 84 and Jeffery Hensler 85.
Damon Moore’s 82 and Nate Frencik’s 85 paced Meadowbrook, while Cogan Warther had 85 for Dover and Trevor Wilkinson 81 for Cambridge.
Other top scores included Andy Cornell’s 85 for New Philadelphia and 89s from Claymont’s Ryan Meese and Cody Burcher.
