The Fond du Lac High School boys soccer team celebrated a special night with a 9-0 victory over visiting Menasha at the Fondy Soccer Complex.

The Cardinals introduced their team of the decade during halftime of Tuesday’s game, which was a 5-0 Fond du Lac advantage at the break.

“It was nice because there was so much going on at halftime, it was nice the guys came out and kind of put it away in the first half so we could kind of celebrate the event,” said Fondy coach Greg Winkler.

Elliot Pieper had the hat-trick plus one with four goals. Brock Lisowe, Brennan Davies, Brett Stuck, Matt Schneider and Jacob Miller all contributed a goal each.

Lisowe, Casey McArdle and Jordan Moehn all had two assists for the Cardinals, which improved to 10-7-2 overall, 4-2-1 in the FVA. Menasha drops to 0-7 in the FVA.

“It was a game we needed to win and We needed to get our scoring on track with seeding meetings coming up.”

Jared Quimby played the first half and didn’t need to make a save as Fondy’s goalie, while Taylor Schubert had two saves in the second half.

“It was a game we needed to win and We needed to get our scoring on track with seeding meetings coming up.”

WLA 8, Valley Chr. 0

Defenders scored the first two goals as WLA pummeled Valley Christian.

Timo Haup had the first goal in the 14th minute on a run up the field from his right back position, then Trent Rieder scored on a direct kick from about 40 yards out.

After the defenders laid the groundwork, WLA got its other goals from more conventional sources. Robin Yoon scored twice, while Aaron Markgraf, Jacob Schraufnagel, Travis Rieder and Jeran Huey each had one score.

WLA goalie Caleb King saved all three shots he faced.

“We have a big game against league-leading CWC on Thursday, and hopefully this gives us some momentum for that game,” said WLA coach David Haag.

CWC 10, NF/O 0

Luke Jansen had a hat trick, Cody Zonnefeld had two goals, and Hunter Braskamp, Jared Regnerus, Tyler Katsma, Lucas Vander Berg and Jason Braunschweig each had one score in the blowout in Waupun. CWC improves to 12-3-1 overall and 7-0 in the Flyway. The Crusaders play at second-place WLA on Thursday.

“I was pleased that we scored some very nice goals off of some beautiful combinations and avoided being sloppy,” said CWC coach Gregg Zonnefeld.

Trent Vielbig made 14 saves for North Fondy/Oakfield.

KML 3, Springs 0

The Chargers scored one goal in the first half and two more in the second to beat the visiting Ledgers.

Mayville 0, Omro 0

Omro’s Dylan Tritt made nine saves, while Mayville’s Logan Wild stopped the same amount.

“It was a game of defense and counter attacks with not a lot of shots on goal, for a double ot game,” said Mayville coach Dale Amundson.

St. Lawrence 4, Lomira 1

Danny Hernandez scored two goals for the Hilltoppers in their road win, the first since losing standout Alex Gomez to injury.

“This was our first game since Alex Gomez broke his collarbone and the chemistry was not there,” said St. Lawrence coach Dave Bartel. “It will take us some time to get that back.

“Defensively we played solid, but offensively it took us a while to get going.”

Lomira grabbed the lead on a Anson Bautista goal off a penalty kick in the second half.

Hernandez scored twice in a row for the Hilltoppers’ advantage. Danny Alejandre scored and Jose Limon cashed in a penalty kick for the final tally. Alejandre and Limon both had assists for St. Lawrence (7-6, 5-2).
