Boys soccer: Spring, McLean power Rosecrans in opener

NEW CONCORD –The Rosecrans boys soccer team used an early goal and staved off host John Glenn to win its season opener 2-0 on Thursday night.

Freshman Marcus Spring scored early in the first half, when Johnny MacLean crossed a ball into the box and a deflection off a defender went to Spring. MacLean assisted Logan McLaughlin’s goal with six minutes left.

Wayne Cade made 10 saves for his first career shutout for the Bishops.
