BUFFALO, N.Y.-Canisius beats Fordham Prep 55-47 in the opening game of the 7th annual Tom Keenan Classic. The Classic is named for the late Tom Keenan a former Crusaders coach who died from cancer in 2003.
Canisius was led by # 25 Adam Weir with 21 points.
The Crusaders gave up 18 points in the first quarter and just 29 the rest of the way. Head coach Kyle Husband told Two On Your Side’s Stu Boyar “after the first quarter we picked it up defensively and that carried the day for us.”
Canisius will play Nazareth from Brooklyn in Saturday’s championship game. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
