He’s a rising star in the NFL, and now he’ll join the broadcast journalism world.

Cardinals’ standout defensive back Patrick Peterson is set to work with the azcentral sports “Friday Night Fever” team, making his debut tonight at 11:35 on Channel 12.

Peterson will report from the Mountain Pointe-Chandler football game, and his plan is to catch up with members of the winning team and interview them for “Friday Night Fever,” the high school football recap show.

Peterson, who switched his major to broadcasting before his junior season at LSU, left school early for the NFL.

“With me leaving early, I didn’t get to pursue it the way I wanted to,” he said, “… but I learned a lot, so hopefully I can put it to the test (tonight).”
