– The Catholic High School boys’ soccer team will play for its second consecutive state championship on Saturday.

The top-ranked Irish topped Bayless 4-1 today at Blue Springs South High School.

Reilly Harbach, Tommy Giovanni, Ryan Randell and Mitch Moncada scored first-half goals for the Irish, who qualified for the state finals for the fourth straight season.

Last year, Catholic won the first boys’ soccer state title in southwest Missouri history.

Catholic (25-4) will play Southern Boone at 2 p.m. Saturday in the final at Blue Springs South. Southern Boone topped Bishop LeBlond 2-0 in today’s other semifinal.

In addition, Carthage will play for a Class 2 title on Saturday. The Tigers topped Lutheran South 2-0.
