Lindsey Carlson, a freshman cross country team member at Charlotte High School, competed in the Division 2 State cross country meet on Nov. 3 at Michigan International Speedway.

She ran a personal best of 18:19.1 to place 10th in a field of 241 runners, qualifying her as All-State. Not only was she the top freshman in her race, she had the best times of all freshmen in the division races at the state meet.

This capped off a great first year where she was the Regional Champ, League Champ, second at the Greater Lansing Meet and a medalist at seven other meets.
