Charlotte players take honors in Pass, Punt, Kick

Eaton County Parks sponsored an area wide Pass, Punt and Kick competition last weekend, hosted by Charlotte Junior Orioles Director Eric Emery at Mac Gobel Field in Charlotte.

Area winners in the Boys Division were Teighan Line of Charlotte (ages 6-7), Karson Klaut of Charlotte (ages 8-9), Triston Johnson of Charlotte (ages 10-11), Cameron White of Munith (ages 12-13) and Sy Barnett of Charlotte (ages 14-15).

Winners in the Girls Division were Erin Brannstrom of Galesburg (ages 6-7), Jenna Connors of Charlotte (ages 8-9), Kaitlyn Brannstrom of Galesburg (ages 10-11) and Ana Willison of Charlotte (ages 12-13).

Winning results have been forwarded to the Michigan Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) to be eligible for Regional Competition in Haslett on Oct. 13.

The top 18 scores throughout Michigan will advance to Ford Field for a Detroit Lions game to compete for State Championships in each Division. The top eight scores in each division will represent their NFL team, if selected, at a NFL Playoff game on national television.

The NFL program is offered free to youngsters and was hosted by Coach Emery for the second consecutive year. Eaton County Parks Director John Greenslit is a member of MRPA, who also served as their executive director for 22 years and has been with Eaton County for nearly two years.
