CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.

Former Clarksville High soccer standout, Bijan Gloston, can now officially put a stamp on the 2012 season.

The Wildcats goalkeeper was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s All State team in Class AAA.

Gloston, who was also named to The Leaf-Chronicle All Area Soccer team, was the last line of defense for the Wildcats last season and was the anchor on the team. He finished with a 1.5 goals against average during the season and was a All Mid-State nominee. He was also named District 10’s Defensive MVP.

Clarksville to host 2 tournaments

Two little league baseball tournaments will be coming to Clarksville this weekend and into next week.

The city will host both the 13-14-year old Junior League Division double-elimination tournament as well as the 15-16-year-old Senior League Division tournament. Both league tournaments begin play Saturday. The 13-14 year old league will play games at the Clarksville National field while the older division will play games at Stokes Field.

The Northwest 13-14-year old team will compete along with a team from Montgomery Central. Opening ceremonies for that tournament will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Northwest also has a team competing in the 15-16 year old tournament with their first game starting at 8 p.m. Sunday at Stokes Field.
