Senior Julianne Cornell had a hat trick, including the game-winning goal during the second overtime, as the Mother Seton girls soccer team defeated Middlesex 3-2 Monday in a Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division matchup.

Two of Cornell’s three goals were unassisted. Olivia Carl and Kayleen Perez each had goals for Middlesex.

Shannan McCarthy and Catherine Serzan combined to make nine saves for the Setters (6-6) while Stephanie Martinez had 10 saves for the Blue Jays (1-9).

Cardinal McCarrick 3, Dunellen 2 (2OT): Megan Kosa scored twice and Madison McNally added another goal to lead Cardinal McCarrick (4-4). Jackie Von Itter and Isabeau Touchard both scored for Dunellen (3-5).

Wardlaw-Hartridge 5, New Brunswick 0: Valentina Margiottiello scored two goals and Taylor Gerhart had two assists to lead Wardlaw-Hartridge (10-0) past New Brunswick (1-9). Mairead Forrest, Karolyn Gonzalez and Lauren Yates each had a goal for the Rams.

Rutgers Prep 3, North Plainfield 0: Kendra Barat, Ashley Smith and Amy Ericksonare all struck for goals to lift Rutgers Prep (2-6). Megan Groner posted the shutout with three saves, while Kendra Egbert made 13 stops for North Plainfield (3-3-1).

Highland Park
3, South Amboy 2: Highland Park held a 3-0 lead at halftime and was able to hold off South Amboy. Grace Chong, Ashley Lozada, and Maddie Reid scored goals for the Owls (7-1). Sabrina Myers scored both goals for the Governors (2-6).

Howell 1, Old Bridge 0: Sam Nelson made seven saves for Old Bridge (6-3).

Boys Soccer

Piscataway Tech 3, Cardinal McCarrick 2 (2OT): Sebastian Ramos scored the game winner for Piscataway Tech (3-6). Michael Perez netted two goals for the Raiders. Shaun Park and Chris Gomez scored for Cardinal McCarrick (0-6).

Metuchen 3, J.F. Kennedy 0: Jake Lucas, Matt Nicholas and Julian Lenartowicz accounted for the Metuchen (8-2) offensive output. J.F. Kennedy (1-8-2) goalkeeper Danny Fernandez had 19 saves.

Middlesex
Academy 5, East Brunswick Tech 0: Five players scored goals for Middlesex Academy (4-4-2). Raj Patel, Matt Persing, Sanmesh Udhayakumar, Ishaan Jain and Neel Halder all had goals. Morgan Montgomery made eight saves for East Brunswick Tech (0-6-1).

Perth Amboy Tech 1, South Amboy 0 (OT): Nilsson Siguenza scored a golden goal in the first overtime to lift Perth Amboy Tech (9-1). Patriots goalie Milton Rendon had eight saves for the shutout while South Amboy (5-3-1) keeper Alex Van Reek made 10 saves.

Highland Park
3, Carteret 1: Tulani Hove scored two goals in one minute and had one assist for Highland Park (6-5). Homero Balbuena also scored for Highland Park. Carteret falls to 3-6-2.

Field Hockey

South Plainfield 6, Old Bridge 0: Shannon Hughes tallied a hat trick and added one assist for South Plainfield (11-0). Danielle Butrico had two goals and Emily Lubach added another for the Tigers. Old Bridge falls to 2-8.

East Brunswick 3, Monroe 0: Taylor McNamara had one goal and one assist to lead East Brunswick. Megan Costello and Jessica Dudra had the other East Brunswick goals. Monroe falls to 4-6.

Metuchen 4, Piscataway 0: Olivia Volpe scored twice for Metuchen (5-5). Claire Dice and Rachel Gulotta had the other goals for the Bulldogs. Hannah Isaacs made 26 saves for Piscataway (1-10).

Sayreville 3, South Brunswick 0: Melanie Lopez scored twice and Taylor Donnelly added another goal to spearhead the Sayreville (3-7) attack. Elizabeth Ruedemann made five saves for South Brunswick (7-3).
