Cross country: Gales girls second; Lions, Gales boys fourth at Galion

Sammie Zishka finished second in 18:46 to lead Lancaster’s girls cross country team at the Galion Cross Country Festival. The Golden Gales finished 12th of 20 teams.

Savannah McCray (39th, 20:39), Ariana Taylor (80th, 21:53), Jessica Lambert (98th, 22:53) and Aubrey Tobin (100th, 22:59) also scored for Lancaster.

Jeff Hanson finished eighth in a time of 16:38 to lead Liberty Union’s boys to a fourth-place finish out of 21 teams in the Division III race.

Colton Roth (19th, 17:01), Jacob Motts (30th, 17:20), Brandon Altiers (37th, 17:39) and Gene Smith (63rd, 18:22) also scored for the Lions.

In the boys Division I race, Adam Wise finished third in 15:54 to lead Lancaster to a fourth-place finish out of 26 teams.

Stephen Sparks (8th, 16:08), Nick Weaver (24th, 16:32), Jon Urbine (40th, 16:47) and Robbie Harris (66th, 17:12) also scored for the Gales.
