Cross country: North boys win FRCC East Division

Sheboygan South’s McKena Ramos and Sheboygan North’s entire boys team walked away as champions at Thursday’s five-team Fox River Classic Conference East Division cross country meet.

Ramos edged out Green Bay East’s Armando Torres by under two seconds to win the individual title at the meet hosted by South. He won in 15 minutes, 53.89 seconds; Torres finished in 15:55.11.

North, meanwhile, had four runners finish in the top nine overall for the team crown. Trevor Damkot led the way, taking fifth in 17:11.

North’s girls took second place out of six teams. The Golden Raiders finshed well behind Preble, which had four of the top six finishers.

Freshman Katherine Reinemann took fourth overall to lead the Raiders, in 16:00. Teammates Monique Felix (11th) and Annabelle Damkot (13th) also finished in the top 15. Emily McCoy of Preble won in 15:19.

Plymouth’s girls finished in third place and Cedar Grove-Belgium took sixth at the 14-team Port Washington Invitational.

Sophie Bolich took sixth overall in 15:43 to lead Plymouth, while CGB’s Tammi Del Ponte finished one second later and in eighth. Slinger’s Taylor Clyse won the meet in 14:47.

Thomas Jankowski took 25th in 17:38 to lead Plymouth’s boys, which finished ninth. Alec Miller of West Bend West won in 16:13.

Sheboygan Lutheran’s boys took second out of 18 teams and Random Lake’s girls were second out of 19 at the Lomira Invitational.

Jacob Jurss took seventh place (17:40) to lead the Crusaders boys, and Ashley Scheele was fifth for the girls’ team, which took fourth overall.

Random Lake individual results were not submitted Thursday.

Sheboygan Falls girls finished 5-6-7 and Howards Grove’s Cassie Marver was second overall at in the girls’ portion of the Campbellsport Invitational.

Molly Sauve, Carlie Howard and Tiffany Fischer led the Falcons, who took second as a team. Marver finished in 16:09, behind only Becca Gosselin of Living Word Lutheran (15:24).

Eric Dvorachek of Howards Grove was the area’s top finisher, taking seventh in 18:28. Sam Engel of Winneconne won in 17:11.
