The Rebels were without Phillip Lindsay, their all-everything running back and team leader who tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
“Everyone thought Phillip [Lindsay] was South. South is South. We are Rebels, that’s what we are,” said senior quarterback Malik Tollerson. “It was devastating that he did go down, but we came together more as a team.”
The Rebels advanced to 4-0 after winning the Broncos Game of the Week in very convincing fashion. South, as a team, is ready to compete for the league title.
“Every day in practice that’s what we do. We preach hard work, never taking a day off,” said Cameron French, a junior wide receiver/defensive back. “You go 100% and that’s what happens. We’ve been working hard all summer, we’re here.”
