Why chosen: The fourth-year Oakland coach led the Patriots to a fourth-place finish in this season’s TSSAA Class AAA state meet. Oakland also won the county boys meet and Region 4-AAA championship.

Why chosen: Frazer finished 12th in the TSSAA Class AAA state meet in 19:55.90. She also finished second in the Region 4-AAA meet.

Why chosen: Gardner won the TSSAA Class AAA state meet in 18:44.13, winning by more than 13 seconds. She also won the Region 4-AAA meet.
Claudia Smith Central Magnet, So.
Why chosen: Smith finished fourth in the TSSAA Class A/AA state meet in 20:35.35. She won the Region 4-A/AA meet.
Hannah Waggoner Oakland, Sr.
Why chosen: Waggoner, a first-year runner, finished 32nd in the TSSAA Class AAA state meet in 21:01.17. She finished sixth in the Region 4-AAA meet.

Why chosen: Weems placed 53rd in the TSSAA Class AAA state meet in 21:39.41. She also placed fifth in the Region 4-AAA meet.

Why chosen: The fifth-year coach helped guide the Lady Stars to a runner-up performance at the TSSAA Class AAA state meet. It marked the best finish in the girls’ program’s history. Siegel also had its first state cross country champion in Nicole Gardner.
Quote: “It was pretty remarkable. We were supposed to finish, if you look at the times (entering state), sixth. We talked about it that day. I told them to worry about yourself and not others. I was totally taken aback.”
