Mississinewa 55, Blackford 14
The Bruins played Mississinewa even through the first quarter at 7-all, but the Indians exploded for 42 unanswered points in the second and third quarters.
The Indians rushed for 309 yards on the Blackford defense. Mississinewa found success through the air, too, completing 9-of-11 passes for 122 yards.
Trace Oswalt ran for a 15-yard touchdown for the Bruins in the first quarter. Blackford (0-5) returned to the end zone in the fourth on a 95-yard Gavin Dyer punt return.
Oswalt completed 7-of-9 passes for 65 yards, and he ran for 60 yards on 12 carries.
Monroe Central 0
The undefeated Trojans (5-0) rolled up 31 points in the first half and cruised to a lopsided victory over winless Monroe Central (0-5).
“It was never really competitive,” Monroe Central coach John Hochstetler said. “They’re undefeated and defensively they were able to physically make it a mismatch.”
New Castle 7
The Wildkats (4-1, 3-0 North Central Conference) scored the opening 37 points before New Castle (0-5, 0-3) found the end zone in the fourth quarter. Rashad Gray ran for a 32-yard touchdown for the Trojans.
