Katelyn Warren had eight kills for the Thomas A. Edison girls volleyball team in a 3-1 victory over Susquehanna Valley on Wednesday in a Section 4 Class C quarterfinal match in Elmira Heights.
The teams split the first two games, with Edison taking the opener, 25-11, and Susquehanna Valley evening the match with a 25-18 win. The Spartans won the final two games, 25-22, 25-5.
Michelle Woychak and Nicole Bargesser each served for 15 points for second-seeded Edison (16-2). Woychak also had 11 digs and five kills.
Molleigh Malanoski added 16 assists and seven kills for Edison. Becky Linderbery also had seven kills.
Edison will be one of four teams in the pool-play semifinals today at Horseheads Middle School. The top two teams advance to Saturday’s championship match at Watkins Glen High School.
