Eric Yonda scored a pair of goals as host Chenango Forks rallied from a three-goal deficit to defeat Norwich, 6-4, in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference boys soccer game Monday.
Norwich led 3-0 just 20 minutes into the game, but the Blue Devils (3-2) responded with six straight goals. Jake Gaworecki scored with 24:42 remaining in the second half to give Forks the lead for good, 4-3, and 40 seconds later Arthur Ingraham scored on a diving header off a corner kick from Gaworecki to put Forks ahead by two goals.
Curtis Woodward had a pair of goals to lead the Purple Tornado.
Walton 2, Sidney 1: Cameron Murphy scored two goals, including the game-winner early in the second half, as host Walton beat Sidney in a Midstate Athletic Conference contest.
Murphy beat a couple of defenders, scoring from close range with 36 minutes remaining to break a 1-all tie.
Owego 3, Norwich 0: Rachel Merrill had eight kills and Lauren Edwards tallied 19 assists as host Owego remained unbeaten with a 25-10, 25-9, 25-7 victory over Norwich in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference match.
Shelby Klemmp had four aces for the Indians (5-0).
For Norwich, Taylor Cook had three kills, two blocks and four digs.
