EWC football roundup: Falls edged at Two Rivers

By

Sheboygan Falls’ defense held Two Rivers quarterback Brett Kasper — second in the state in passing yards — to just 122 yards, but the Raiders were able to pull out a 21-0 Eastern Wisconsin Conference win Friday night.

Kasper entered the game with 1,392 yards and 18 touchdowns, but thanks to the Falcons defense along with wet and rainy conditions, finished the game just 13-of-27, although he did throw for two scores.

Falls (2-3, 1-3) struggled on offense, gaining just 125 total yards. Two Rivers (5-0, 4-0) finished with 241.

The Raiders’ Dexter Smith returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Sean McKinster ran for 51 yards on seven carries to lead the Falcons, who face Kiel next week in an important game for both teams’ playoff hopes.

The Huskies fell to 1-4, 0-4 in the EWC and were eliminated from playoff contention with the road loss.
