EWC football: Waupun air attack falls short; New Holstein can't move Two Rivers

The Waupun High School football team did a lot of damage through the air, but it couldn’t keep up with Sheboygan Falls’ ground attack in the Falcons’ 31-21 EWC win on Friday night.

Keegan Pinch threw 41 passes with 21 reaching their mark for a total of 243 yards. Ryan Schmitt was his favorite target with 13 grabs for 185 yards. They connected on two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

However, Falls ran 44 times for 234 yards and four touchdowns — three from Erik Klemme.

Two Rivers 30, New Holstein 0

New Holstein had one of the best efforts against Two Rivers’ offense this season, but the Huskies couldn’t get their own offense in gear in a home loss.

Michael Blanck ran for 45 yards to highlight the New Holstein (1-6, 0-6) offense. The Purple Raiders’ star quarterback Brett Kasper threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns.

New Holstein wraps up its season Friday at archrival Kiel.
