Five area soccer teams host Tuesday

The WIAA boys soccer tournament gets in full swing today with five area teams hosting a regional semifinal.

In Division 1, the third-seeded Fond du Lac Cardinals host New London at the Fondy Soccer Complex beginning at 7 p.m. Playing at 4:30 p.m. at the Complex will be WLA, seeded fourth in its sectional. The defending Division 3 state runner-up has Omro coming to town. If the Vikings win, they will host the winner of Kohler and fifth-seeded St. Lawrence. Those two teams will be playing in Mount Calvary starting at 4 p.m.

The city of Waupun will have two playoff soccer games. Flyway champion Central Wisconsin Christian is a two seed and will play Lake Mills at 7 p.m. at Mulder Field. At 4 p.m., Waupun, seeded seventh in its Division 2 sectional, will play host to Marinette.

Other area Division 2 games include ninth-seeded Campbellsport playing at eighth-seeded Wrightstown, North Fondy/Oakfield facing EWC champion Sheboygan Falls, and New Holstein going to sixth-seeded Winneconne, with all three games beginning at 4:30 p.m. Mayville’s game at Two Rivers is a 4 p.m. kickoff.

In Division 3, Lomira plays at Watertown Luther Prep at 4:30 p.m.
