Zach Molloy, Toms River North: Molly showed an impressive season last year where he finished fifth in the 200 freestyle at the NJSIAA Individual Swimming Championships in 1:44.19. He also tied for fourth in the state in the 100 freestyle in 47.35 after winning a county title and tying for second at the conference championships in that event. He will look to improve his times this season as a junior.
Phillip Binaco, Point Boro: Binaco won the 500 freestyle at the Shore Conference Championships where he clocked in at 4:43.51. He broke the Ocean County meet record by 9.33 after a 4:41.96 finish to take home the title. He also placed fifth in the 100 backstroke at the county championships. He will look to shatter his own records this season, and help improve the Panthers 4-6 record from last season.
Sam Lynch, Ocean: Lynch proved last year that he is one of the state’s top backstokers. He claimed his second consecutive Monmouth County and Shore Conference titles in the 100 backstroke and broke his own record in the process. He also won a conference title in the 200 individual medley in 1:57.34 and a county title in the 50 freestyle in 21.89. In his last season in his scholastic career Lynch will look to defend his titles and help the Spartans remain in the top 10 in the Shore Conference.
Evan Mahoney, Central: Mahoney had a dominant season last year and remains to be one of the top swimmers in the Shore Conference. He placed second in the 100 freestyle in 46.89 and third in the 100 breastroke in 57.69. He also set records at the Ocean County Championships in the 200 individual medley with a 1:59.42 and breaststroke, 59:09.
Alex D’Anna, CBA: D’Anna will look to be one of the top swimmers for CBA this season after the loss of five key seniors from last years roster.
