The Fond du Lac boys volleyball team dominated host Green Bay Preble in a 25-11, 25-17, 25-16 FVA match on Tuesday.
Offensively, Logan Wendt had 28 assists and Collin Pickart had 15 kills. Aaron Wendels blocked five shots and Pickart led the team with 10 digs. Ian Giebel had seven kills and seven digs.
“In my opinion, they stopped worrying about the other team and concentrated on executing, and it showed,” said Fondy coach Royal Smit, who was also happy that both JV teams won. “We made the plays we needed. We made the passes and the sets were there. It was a fun night all around.”
Fondy 3, Menasha 1
After dropping the second set, the Cardinals got back to controlling the match in a 25-17, 22-25, 25-10, 25-17 win.
Sadie Warner had 14 kills and Jenna Rosenthal had 12 to lead Fondy’s attack. Assists were also split between Jenny Smit (18) and Allison Duley (14).
Rosenthal also had 2.5 blocks and Makenna Mitchell blocked two shots. Kyra Gravelle dug 10 shots for the Cardinals, who Kevin Santry said were boosted by a boisterous home crowd.
“They were having fun and that reminded our girls that they needed to have fun on the court,” he said of the crowd.

The Crusaders swept 25-18, 25-14, 25-13 behind 19 assists and eight aces from Ellie Miller.
Kristen Kok had eight kills and Lydia Greenfield led the defense with eight digs.
Marian 3, Alverno 0
Carlie Kinsey (Waukesha) had 11 kills, Katie Reimer (Fond du Lac) had 23 assists and Janessa Magdefrau (Fond du Lac) led Marian with eight digs in the comfortable NAC victory.
