The Fond du Lac boys soccer team shut out Hartford before losing to Green Bay Preble at the Hartford Invite on Saturday.

Jordan Moehn scored in the 47th minute on an Elliot Pieper assist to give the Cardinals a 1-0 win against the host Orioles. Jared Quimby made six saves.

“A lot of credit has to be given to the defense,” said Fondy coach Greg Winkler. “We were playing without a key player due to a family matter and Nick Schwartz, Jacob Miller, and Brett Stuck did a good job helping Jared Quimby get his ninth shutout of the season.”

Thirty minutes after that game, Fondy (12-8-2) played Preble, ranked third in the state. The Hornets won that game 4-0 with Quimby making four saves.
