D’Evelyn (4-3, 2-1) drew first blood on a Greg Moinet touchdown run.
Conifer (5-1, 2-1) scored the next 17 unanswered. Matthew McClintock tied the game at the end of the first quarter with a touchdown run. In the second Travis Tadra kicked a field goal and McClintock added another touchdown run to make it 17-7.
Cody Marvel hit Ty McGee for an eight yard touchdown pass to make it 17-13. Thomas Kim led the Lobos downfield and snuck in from one yard to put Conifer up 24-13. D’Evelyn kicked a field goal at the end of the period to pull within 24-16.
Conifer extended their lead to 31-13 thanks to McClintock’s third touchdown on the opening drive of the third quarter. Dalton Hooks pulled the Jaguars back within seven on a one yard plunge late in the third.
The teams would combine for 33 points in the final quarter. Kim took an option keeper 65-yards to make it 38-24. Marvel countered with a 20-yard scoring run. AJ Eleniewski broke off a 20-yard touchdown run to put the Lobos up 44-31.
Marvel snuck in on the next Jaguar drive to cut the deficit to six. D’Evelyn recovered an onside kick but turned the ball over on downs. McClintock’s fourth touchdown run of 48-yards sealed the victory.
Conifer plays at undefeated Rifle Friday at 7 PM.
D’Evelyn hosts Evergreen Friday at 4 PM.
