Former Chiles standout Lily Williams ran a dream mile in the third annual Adidas Dream Mile on Saturday at Ichan Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York.

Williams finished sixth in the race of 14 of the top runners in the United States.

She finished with a time of 4:42.79 — the fastest Florida high school girls time ever run. She beat Shelby Hayes’ 4:43, which she ran in last year’s Dream Mile.

Williams was only four seconds out of first place in the race.

The Meridian Park All Stars defeated the Messer Park All Stars 16-1, by virtue of a 15-run rule after four innings, to win the 2012 Dizzy Dean 14U All Star Tournament hosted by Capital Park.

Meridian Park scored 11 runs in the top of the fourth inning to secure the win and pitchers David Waller and Nick Collins combined to hold Messer Park hitless.

Waller earned the win, pitching three innings while Collins pitched the fourth and hit a home run in the second.

Meridian Park went through the tournament undefeated in three games, outscoring opponents 34-4.
