GRAND LEDGE

The 2012 Grand Ledge Girls Golf season is in the books. It was a season filled with lots of excitement both for the team and individual players.

The team finished in fourth place in the CAAC Blue Division, behind Okemos, East Lansing and Holt. They also earned three top 10 finished in some of the larger events with one of those being a top 5 finish at Regional’s.

The team also had one player earn an individual qualifying spot in State Finals held at Forest Akers East. Congratulations to senior Haley Blumer for making it all the way to State Finals. What a great way to cap off your high school golf career.

As a result of consistent play all season, Alexis Mrozinski (Jr) and Haley Blumer (Sr) earned First Team All League Honors. To achieve this honor, both players earned enough points in all the league jamborees to finish in the top 12 point earners.

The girls also did very well in the classroom this season as well. Three players earned Academic All Area Honors, way to go Haley Blumer (Sr), Alexis Mrozinski (Jr) and Taylor Bean (Jr). Another huge academic honor that was awarded to the team was Academic Team All State. To earn academic all state as a team, the overall GPA has to be a minimum of 3.5. Our team had a cumulative GPA of 3.79. Congratulations to the Academic All State Team: Haley Blumer (Sr), Nicole Graham (Sr), Alexis Mrozinski (Jr), Taylor Bean (Jr) and Veronica Mills (Fr).

As a coach so early in my coaching tenure, I really cannot be more proud of the accomplishments that the Grand Ledge Girls Golf Team have achieved. Congratulations Ladies on a season well played.
