Girls Soccer: Suffern Wins Home Tournament; More Games

Lauren Lawson scored the eventual game-winning goal off a free kick with 20 minutes to go as Suffern defeated New Rochelle 2-1 in the championship game of the Suffern tournament Saturday. Amanda Ojeda scored off an assist from Brittany Arshansky.

Albertus Magnus 2, Warwick 0: In the consolation game of the Suffern tournament Saturday Carly Clinton scored one goal and assisted on one by Julia McGowan. Kerry Mulcahy assisted on Clinton’s goal. Emily Motti made five saves for the shutout.

Bronxville 1, Edgemont 0: At Edgemont Saturday, Killian Donohue scored in the 73rd minute. Charley Warble made eight saves for the shutout. Frankie Klerer had 15 saves for the Panthers.

Nanuet 4, O’Neill 1: In the first round of the Nanuet tournament Saturday, Maeve Dooley scored twice for the Golden Knights. Nanuet will play Sept. 22 in the championship game at 10 a.m. O’Neill will play in the consolation game.

Hen Hud 7, Peekskill 1: At Peekskill Saturday, Hunter Berndt scored three goals and Eyla Gildin scored twice. Izzy Nazario and Rachel Blitzer also scored for the Sailors. Tanya Guevara scored for Peekskill. Angela Marriott made 10 saves for Hen Hud. Jamie Acevedo had 20 for Peekskill.
