Girls tennis: Waupun earns road win; Fondy falls at West

The Waupun girls tennis team beat Kiel 5-2 on Tuesday in a road EWC dual math.

Savannah Boersma, Alison Oestreicher and Claire Hoekstra won at singles for Waupun on the road.

In doubles for the Warriors, Megan Moore and Kalyn Hedeen won at No. 1, and Meredith Zimmermann and Mikenna Brown won at No. 2.

Osh. West 5, Fondy 2

The Cardinals’ two wins came at the top two singles flights.

No. 1 player Nicole Feltz won 6-2, 6-4 and Emily Chaltry bounced back from a second set loss to win 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

Only one of Fondy’s (11-3, 4-2) five losses went to three sets — a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 loss at No. 3 doubles.

Springs 5, Wayland 2

Springs swept the singles matches Monday.

Allison Cramer (No. 1 singles), Melissa Spannbauer (No. 2), Elizabeth Breunette (No. 3) and Lydia Lindow (No. 4) all won in straight sets, and no Wayland player won more than seven games.

The Ledgers’ one doubles win came from Maddi Brant and Abbey Gagne, who won the No. 3 match 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
