Quez Nesbitt rushed for 148 yards and four touchdowns, and visiting Greer defeated Southside 41-7 in a Peach Blossom AAA Region game Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets (7-2, 5-1) earned their fifth straight victory and remained in the hunt for a second consecutive region championship. Next week, they will host unbeaten Blue Ridge at Dooley Field.
If Blue Ridge wins, the Tigers would claim the region title. If Greer wins and Greenville loses against Eastside, the Jackets would share the title with Blue Ridge and grab the top seed in the playoffs because of their head-to-head victory.
If Greer and Greenville both win, all three teams will share the title, and the top seed will be determined by points against in competition among the three.
Nesbitt, who carried the ball 26 times, boosted his season rushing total to 1,756 yards and his season touchdown total to 28.
Greer quarterback Josh Gentry completed 11 of 19 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. The Jackets also got a touchdown run by Emmanuel Kelly.
Greer, which scored four touchdowns in the second quarter and led 34-0 at halftime, finished with 419 total yards. Southside had 107, including minus-20 rushing yards on 20 attempts.
Lutrell Dallas had a touchdown run for the Tigers in the third quarter. Southside quarterback Jawun Prince completed 6 of 11 passes for 127 yards.
The Tigers (4-5, 3-3) end their regular season at Pickens.
