Maddie Gudenkauf hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday to lead Fort Collins High School’s softball team to a walk-off win.
The Lambkins beat visiting Legend 8-7 in a nonconference game made up from last week.
Collins led by a run heading into the seventh inning, but Legend scored twice for a 7-6 lead. Gudenkauf’s home run came with no outs after a leadoff single.
Ashley Brock went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Collins (6-2), which had 12 hits in the game. Shannon Seale added a double and Blair Norris earned the win in relief of Gudenkauf.
LEGACY 17, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 2 — At Broomfield, the top-ranked Lightning scored 17 runs on 13 hits and beat the Lobos in 3 ½ innings.
Rocky managed just two hits in the loss, one an RBI double by Sydney Rios.
“Legacy is a very good team. We didn’t play our best against them and it showed in the end,” Rocky coach Mike Crockett said. “It was great experience for our players and hopefully we will learn from this game.”
POUDRE 3, BEAR CREEK 2 — Zach Hooker scored the deciding goal in the 69 th minute to help the Impalas to a nonconference win.
Hooker’s goal gave Poudre a 3-1 lead at the time. Bear Creek added a goal in the 79th minute.
Diego Rivera and Manny Macias also scored for Poudre. Hooker assisted on the goal by Rivera.
LAKEWOOD 3, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 0 — At Lakewood, the Lobos dropped to 1-2 this season with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 loss.
HERIATAGE CHRISTIAN 3, COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN 0 — At Northglenn, the Eagles swept a close match 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.
Michele Kronenberg had 27 assists and five aces, while Kailey Smith added 10 digs for Heritage Christian (3-4).
