The Class A fourth-ranked Gull Lake volleyball team picked up a big SMAC East Division victory on Wednesday, sweeping visiting Coldwater 3-0.

The Blue Devils won by scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-18. Gull Lake (23-4, 3-0 SMAC East) was led by Leah Perri with 15 kills, two blocks and four aces. Also for Gull Lake, Courtney Senkewitz had 15 kills; Riley Wisser had 12 digs and Katie Schau had 32 assists.

For Coldwater (14-3-1, 2-1), Paige Holicki led the way with seven kills and 17 digs with Breeann Spangler getting six kills and 10 digs, Janie Marso adding 19 assists and Morgan Klein coming up with 17 digs.


Marshall 3, (At) BC Central 0: Marshall won by scores of 25-9, 25-10 and 25-19.

The Bearcats were led by Emma Stagner with nine digs. Also for BCC, Sierra Fires had two aces; Madison Jackson had three kills; Hallie Hampton had six assists and Cykarah Pierce had one block.

(At) Pennfield 3, K-Hackett 0: Pennfield won by scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.

The Panthers (10-7, 2-2 KVA) was led by Hanna Lenz had 19 digs, one kill and two aces. Also for Pennfield, Tristen Ehredt had 10 kills, two blocks and nine digs and Hanna Day had five kills and one block.

Bronson 3, Mendon 1: Class C ninth-ranked Bronson won by scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23.

The Vikings (3-0 SJV) were led by Kylei Ratkowski with 14 kills, 22 digs and four aces. Also for Bronson, Alexa Ratkowski had 37 assists and 10 digs; Emily Mayes had 10 kills ; Kassidy Bystry had 24 digs; Brooke O’Neill had 10 kills and two digs; and Skyler Sobeski had six kills and 17 digs.

Olivet 3, (At) Constantine 0: Olivet won by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-16.

The Eagles (4-1-7, 2-2 KVA) were led by Lauren Westlake with eight digs. Also for Olivet, Daniela Garza had six digs; Kaylyn Westlake had three aces and 15 assists; Aleena Janousek had seven kills; and Mariah Sterley had for blocks.

Climax-Scotts 3, Jackson Christian 1 (Tue.): Climax-Scotts won by scores of 21-25, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-23.

The Panthers were led by Farrah Scears with 10 kills and three blocks. Also for C-S, Fallon Froberg had 14 kills; Destiny Froberg had seven kills and 12 aces; Anna Lodes had three aces and Margaret Brown had nine digs.

Concord 3, Union City 0 (Tue.): Concord won by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-15.

The Chargers (10-11-2, 1-1 Big Eight) were led by Jasmine McIntosh with nine assists, three digs and one kill. Martha Merchant had four kills, one block and five digs; Brooke Johnson had five kills, four blocks and one dig; Marissa Mead had 20 digs; Riley Smith had 10 digs and two aces .


(At) Pennfield 7, Maple Valley 0: Pennfield’s Darin Blocker had a career-high four goals to go with one assist in the win. Also for the Panthers (5-4, 4-1 KVA), Kyle McGhan and Nate Fishnick each scored, while Jared Frisbie had a goal and an assist.

Maple Valley’s James Burd made 22 saves in goal.

Delton Kellogg 0, (At) Olivet 0 (2OT): Russell Pliley made nine saves in the shutout tie for Olivet (2-6-1, 1-3-1 KVA).

Landon Grizzle made five saves for Delton Kellogg.
