All four Spackenkill High School players shot under 40 as the Spartans defeated Franklin D. Roosevelt 154-180 at par-36 McCann Memorial Golf Course in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League match on Thursday.
Ian Wilson and Stanley Garrant each scored 38 for medalist honors, while Greg Allen and Erik Stauderman each shot a 39. Wilson had seven pars and two bogeys, and Garrant had one birdie and five pars.
“I knew we had the potential for four scorers in the 30s, but I didn’t think it would happen this early in the season,” Spackenkill coach Keith Humphrey said.
“This is a new group and they are working hard. If you ask the players, they played every day over the summer and they are determined to get better.”
Shawn Cimorelli fired a 43 to pace Roosevelt (1-3).
Red Hook 173, Marlboro 195 — Kyle Van Wagner shot a 6-over-par 42 at Red Hook Golf Club to lift the Raiders to an MHAL win.
Tyler Rotolo and Austin Lunstedt each shot a 43 for Red Hook (1-2), and Stephen Munisteri carded a 45.
Ryan Haight and Cole Nicolas led Marlboro (0-3), each shooting a 46.
Rhinebeck 187, Pine Plains 222 — Max Berger shot a 6-over-par 42 at Red Hook Golf Club as the Hawks topped the Bombers in an MHAL match to improve to 2-0 .
Rob Van Kleeck shot a 50 for Pine Plains, which fell to 0-2.
Millbrook 175, Webutuck 270 — Tyler Prater shot a 3-over-par 39 at Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club to lead Millbrook over Webutuck in the MHAL match.
