Mickey Hansche scored her 1,000th-career point and finished with 19 to lead the ninth-ranked City High girls basketball team to a 64-33 win over Dubuque Wahlert on Friday at City High.

The Little Hawks led 53-19 entering the fourth quarter, and coach Bill McTaggart took Hansche out of the game three points short of the mark. But when it was pointed out to him, McTaggart put Hansche back in and she made the milestone with a 3-point goal.

Haley Lorenzen had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists for City, and Kiera Washpun had 11 points and five steals.

City is 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

* REGINA 53, TIPTON 22: The Class 2A No. 13 Regals had 17 steals while making just 16 turnovers to win at Regina.

Jenna Lehman had 19 points and seven steals, Megan Fackler had 12 points, Jordyn Lehman had six points and six rebounds, and Gabby Dutchik had four steals and three assists.

Regina is 7-0 and 6-0 in the Cedar Valley Conference.

* SOLON 53, WEST DELAWARE 35: The Class 4A No. 13 Spartans led just 26-25 at halftime but came on strong in the second half to win in Manchester.

“We came out pretty slow in the first half, but in the second half, we rebounded really well,” Solon senior Karly Kramer said.

Mallory Smith had 13 points for the Spartans, Kristen Purdy 11 points and Ali Herdliska had nine points.

Solon is 6-2.

* MID-PRAIRIE 46, DURANT 35: The Class 3A No. 10 Golden Hawks led by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter and cruised to the win in Wellman.

Mariah Swartzentruber had 15 points, six rebounds and four steals, Taylor Kurtz had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Jessie Butters had seven points and 13 rebounds.

Mid-Prairie is 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the CVC.

* WEST BRANCH 64, WEST LIBERTY 34: Heather Poula had 17 points to lead the Bears in West Branch.

Kelley Trimble had 14 points, Maddy Russell had eight points, and Paige Donohoe had seven points.

West Branch is 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the CVC.

* HIGHLAND 57, PEKIN 44: Paige Wieland and Chelsey Lampe each had 10 points to lead the Huskies in Riverside.

Wieland also had eights steals, and Lampe had four steals. Kassie Vazquez and Samantha Dutton each had eight points.

Highland is 6-3 overall and 5-3 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

* BENTON COMMUNITY 65, CLEAR CREEK AMANA 49: Tara Walls had 13 points to lead the Clippers in a loss in Tiffin.

Mallory Neubauer had 11 points, and Hanna Stokes had 10 points.

The Clippers trailed just 41-36 with four minutes left in the third quarter, but the Bobcats pulled away with an 11-3 run.

Clear Creek Amana is 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the WaMaC.

* LOUISA-MUSCATINE 33, LONE TREE 29: Madelyn Flemr had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lions in a loss in Letts.

Lone Tree is 4-5 overall and 3-5 in the SEISC.

* WINFIELD-MOUNT UNION 52, IMS 37: Kristin Davis had 17 points and six rebounds to lead Iowa Mennonite School in a loss at Winfield.

Olivia Yutzy added 11 points and eight rebounds.

IMS now is 3-7 overall.
