Harper Creek’s run to the state finals ended a few miles short as the Beavers lost in this state semifinal held at Chelsea High School, just a few exits on I94 short of Detroit and Ford Field.

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s defeated Harper Creek, 28-7, in this Division 3 state semifinal in Michigan High School Athletic Association football playoff action on Saturday.

Grant Niemiec led Orchard Lake St. Mary’s with 148 yards and two touchdowns with Parker McInnis had 129 yard rushing and a touchdown, plus a scoring catch in the win.

The Eaglets advance to the Division 3 state finals and will face Grand Rapids Christian at Ford Field next Saturday.

Harper Creek was led by Kasey Carson with 98 yards rushing and a touchdown as the Beavers end the season at 10-3.
